Anniversary and Harvest Thanksgiving Services, taken from the Cambridge Independant Press, 10th October 1904

The friends connected with the Congregational Church, Reach, celebrated their anniversary and harvest services on Sunday and Monday. Mr S. Chivers, an old esteemed friend of the Church preached two sermons to appreciative congregations on Sunday afternoon and evening and on Monday a capital tea was provided by the ladies of the congregation and much enjoyed by a goodly number. In the evening Mr Joseph Parker of Mildenhall presided at the public meeting and admirable addresses were delivered by the Rev. J. Phillips, G. Porter Chapple, Messrs William Mackness, George Webb and F. Collier. Mrs G. Webb gave the financial statement and freewill offerings were generously given. The Church had been beautifully decorated with corn, vegetables, flowers and fruit. The choir rendered an appropriate selection of hymns and anthems. Miss Jennings ably accompanied on the organ. The Pastor, Rev. J. W. Upton and Mr Allen Hills voiced the thanks of the friends for the liberal help received from Mr Chivers, Chairman, speakers, collectors and all who had brought these proceedings to such a satisfactory conclusion.
