The Church

Evening Prayer is said every Wednesday, in the Church, at 5.00pm (and lasts about 20 minutes).

Holy Communion is celebrated every Wednesday in Burwell Church and every Thursday in Swaffham Bulbeck Church both at 10am.

Bell Ringing practise nights in St. Cyriacs and St. Julitta's Swaffham Prior are every other Tuesday from 8.00pm. Sunday ringing for 30 minutes before the 11.00am service and before the 6.00pm service. (Tel. 741328)

Visits The Vicar would be pleased to know of anyone needing a home or hospital visit. or who would like to receive Holy Communion.  (Tel. 741409)

The Pub Action Group

An update
Everyone should have received a copy of the update sent out on 16th March.
No point in covering that ground again.
However since then, the asking price has been reduced to £140k (fixtures and fittings and stock extra) and our chosen partner has been granted access to further survey the property. Once he has done this, obtained quotes from his builder, and sounded out East Cambs on any possible planning issues involved, he will be in a position to consider further negotiations.

Reach Playing Field update              Back on track
East Cambs approved our rejigged grant applications at a meeting on Tuesday 24th March, and subject to our receiving written approval we are therefore in a position to complete the project.
This will entail:
i) Erecting fencing along the two ends of the playing field and along the side adjoining the paddock, and constructing a hard-core roadway between the gate from the car park and the Stewardship field gate alongside the dyke. ii) the siting and construction of a wooden children's play area and iii) the purchase of a sit-on diesel wide-cut mower (which will also allow us to cut the grass on the village greens ourselves.
It has taken an age, but we can now complete the project.
