Reports
County and District Matters
C/Cllr Fitch explained to the Parish Council that County Farms had to sell (by law) land surplus to the efficient running of the Estate. If no offers were forthcoming from those it had been offered to (such as Reach PC) it would be sold at 'best price' on the open market. It may be about £3000 per acre but they cannot control what the land is sold for. He then spoke about a report the East Cambridgeshire District Council is preparing re planning. PC voiced concern over the alleged selling off of Church Farm for equestrian use and argued it would be best re-let in its entirety. Cllr Fitch is to look into it.
Correspondence
Clerk had received letter from Swaffham Prior Summer Playscheme asking for a donation. It was agreed at £30.
A member of the Parish had enquired about buying some parish land near the old clunch pit. PC do not want to sell at present. He also complained about spotlight at Highfield Farm blinding drivers. Clerk to request owner to re-position.
Playing field update
The District Solicitor hopes to have the conveyancing finished by the end of June. The land is to be measured accurately to avoid future problems. Cllr Pearson told the PC that planning permission was now through and went through the details.
