Burwell(Cambridge) & District Medical Trust

So far the Trust has bought a pressure relieving alternating mattress to relieve bedridden patients at home. We were fortunate through donations to buy one (although second-hand) hardly used for £2,500.

We now wish to purchase an ECG machine -Cardiovit AT-2 -the cost of which is £2,700 excluding VAT. At the moment our account is about £800 in credit so I am appealing for donations or gifts to reach the amount needed.

The Trust would be most grateful if you could help in one of the following ways:

a) By donation

b) By a gift -Gifts of £250 or more attracts immediate refund of tax from the Inland Revenue (at £250 about £78 making £328 in total). The donor would be required to fill in a form giving tax reference number and tax district.

c) By covenant -a certain amount annually for at least 4 years.

AIM -The Trustees shall hold the Trust Fund and its income upon Trust to relieve sickness and to preserve and protect the health of the patients of the General Practitioners in the Village of Burwell, Cambridgeshire and the surrounding area within a four mile radius of Burwell Centre by the provision of equipment and facilities not normally provided by the National Health Service.

Applications from outside the area would be considered by the Trustees. Any equipment will be the property of the Trust but on permanent loan to the Practice.

The Trust was the idea of members of the Community wishing to support the Medical Practice and the Trust will work very closely with the members of the Practice to achieve the aims of the Trust.
