Burwell Surgery

I would like to begin my newsletter by thanking the Burwell Medical Trust for the loan of the new ECG machine. This is greatly appreciated by the doctors and nurses as it provides a quick and clear recording. Our thanks go to the members of the Trust for raising the large sum of money to provide the machine and to all those who gave a donation.

Flu Vaccinations

We have come to the end of our Flu Clinics for this season having vaccinated over 650 patients. The response at the Day Centre was greater than expected and some people had to wait a while. However, even everyone did receive a vaccination, a total of 104 were given by Dr Ridsdill Smith and our practice nurse. Next year I will liase with Sue Elliott to provide a better system so that the clinic runs smoothly.

Optician

We are pleased to inform you of an additional service available at the surgery. Healthcall optical Service will be holding a clinic here in January on Wednesday afternoons, initially once a month, but hopefully increasing to weekly. This service is available to all in the area, not just to patients registered at the surgery. Please enquire at reception for details or pick up a leaflet.

Christmas and New Year Holidays

The surgery will be closed from lunchtime on Wednesday 24th December until Monday 29th. There will be a surgery on Saturday 27th from 9.00 am to 10.00 am for urgent cases only. We will also be closed on Thursday 1st January.
Child Health Clinic

There will not be a Child Health Clinic on Tuesday 30th December.

Wishing you all a happy Christmas and a very healthy New Year from all at the surgery.
