Editorial

What a couple of months we have had!! Petitions going around the village, an article or two in the local newspaper about us growing in size. Well we have grown  (Not houses don't worry!!)  we have three small newcomers to the village. Welcome to  Liam Paul (Marisa Stearn) born on 4th November, Joanie (Hannah & Nick Webb) born on November 5th and last but not least Adam James (Sue and Paul Tarasewicz) born on the 15th November. Congratulations to all the families concerned. We must also extend a warm welcome to Doctors Juliet Vickery and David Thomas who have recently moved into Great Lane, and of course a sincere welcome to the other  families who have also joined our community recently.
I must apologise to Jemma Mynott for missing her name from the birthday list in the last Out of Reach and also to Peter Jordan who was not mentioned when he also had some very good results in his GCSE exams. I must try harder!!!
I have included in this Out of Reach the letters written by  Dr. Lewis to Councillor Shulver and her letter to East Cambs on the Local Plan Deposit Draft so as to keep you all informed of  the situation. You will note that a vast majority of the village wish to keep the infill status only, of those asked approximately 98% said it should  remain.
On behalf of all the Village I would like to thank all those involved in the Bonfire Night it was a brilliant display and a great success.  I have also been asked to remind you that the carol singing is in the Village Hall on December 17th with mince pies and mulled wine to keep you warm and sweet.
In the next edition of the Out of Reach you will discover what it was like to be a private nurse in 1920 this would have appeared this month but due to lack of space I decided to hold it over until the next issue.  (Inclusion date for Feb/March is the 15th January.) Thanks go to those who have contributed to the magazine this month and last, let's now have some new contributors to add to my regulars and get the Out of Reach amongst the best around.
Well I think that's all for this year I am not going to finish the year with any controversial bits so all I can do now is wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and happy New Year.
