Salmon Pate


This is a very simple starter for up to 8 people. it is severed cold so is ideal, as it can he prepared the day before. It is very easy to prepare and only needs a pretty dish (or individual ramekins to set it off).
This is another recipe made from memory so has probably changed over the years!


1lb canned salmon -drained
6oz full fat soft cheese
1 small onion finely chopped
2 tbap lemon juice
2 tbsp horseradish sauce
salt and pepper

Chopped fresh parsley
Lemon wedges
Water biscuits

1. Mix and mash all of the ingredients together very well.
2. Put Into the serving dish..
3. Put In fridge and leave overnight.

Sprinkle with parsley and serve with lemon wedges and water biscuits.

So easy and yet so tasty !!!

Stellenryck Cabernet Sauvignon 1991

This is a full bodied classy fruity red, mature and ready to enjoy this Christmas. Its from the coastal region of South Africa which enjoys ample sunshine and cooling coastal breezes from offshore Antarctic currents. These conditions concentrate fruity characteristic in the grape berry. The wine has had a long Maturation in oak barrels and it still shows firm Tannins but these are balanced beautifully by the ripe blackcurrant fruit character of Cabinet Sauvignon. This is as good if not better than many more expensive French Clarets and worth a trip to Waitrose at £8.95.
