Notes on the meeting of Reach Parish Council held on Wednesday 2nd June 1999
Matters arising
Cllr Aves had spoken to Steven Hill from Highways about the problem of buses driving onto the verges when passing one another, picking up mud and depositing it on the road. It was agreed that one solution might to be to fill the 'gully' with tarmac or to provide kerbstones (this was not a popular alternative). PC decided to take Steven Hill's advice, which was to leave it and see what developed. Cllr Robinson reported rain water in The Hythe not draining away causing flooding in the road. Cllr Aves had received a quote from Ranald Scott for making a replacement wooden signpost for 'Reach Fen'. This was agreed
Correspondence
Shirley Blake, the funding coordinator from East Cambs had
written asking if the PC had been approached for monies towards tarmacing the
frontage at Snake Hall Farm. This was not the case, Clerk to reply assuring her
of the support of the PC for such a scheme. Planning permission has been granted
to Mr and Mrs Manchett of Burwell Road for a replacement dwelling. Planning
application
Mr and Mrs Webb of 10 Swaffham Road have applied for planning permission to
extend their house. PC had no objection but asked if the 'right of way' at the
rear of the house would have to be moved. Reach Fair Anniversary
A discussion took place as to the difference between the 800th fair and the
800th anniversary of the first fair. It was agreed that the 800th fair is in May
2000 and the 800th anniversary on 8th January 2001.
