Youth find a place in the Bikeshed
When you're too young for the pubs, and you don't yet have your own digs, where do you go? During March the young members of the Bikeshed Theatre Company will be hanging out at 'Julie's cafe.' This is the set for the latest musical play written and produced by Robert Newman, which explores the pressures of conformity to the ideal body image. As beauty queen Miss Echo, Kirsty discovers richness outside the beauty contests when she feels she has lost everything.
This will be the debut performance for a number of the cast as new members of this growing company, while the older members concentrate on a new project for this years festivals. The Bikeshed Theatre Company's ethos to produce mainly original musical drama once again presents us with an opportunity to see some outstanding work in youth drama.
