Swaffham Prior School Report |
The school has seen a change of staff this term. Our much-loved deputy of eleven years, Mr Hunns, left in December to affect his magic on a school in Huntingdon. We wish him well, although the children are missing him. We welcomed Mrs Mary Richards from Oakington School, who is quickly getting to grips with her new situation. The rest of the school continues to function well, with Literacy and Numeracy sessions dominating the timetable. We have however, organised several extra-curricular events, the eldest children visiting Upware Field Centre recently and the whole school being entertained by a wind & string musical quintet. This is a very short term, with half term the third week of February, and the end of term only 4 weeks later. The bonus is that Spring will seem to come all the more quickly. Admissions Now is the time to register your child for the Autumn term if s/he will be four by the 31st August. If you do have a child who is eligible to start school in September and you have not yet contacted the school, please do so immediately. All new admissions will be invited to visit the school during the month of June to meet the teacher and to get to know a little of what school is about. Brenda Wilson |
