Another fair over this time the 800th and yet again the weather was kind to us, I ended up with my fair head and was pealing as usual few days later. Whilst we are on the subject of the Fair I think it only right that I should thank all those involved with the fair on your behalf, they did as usual a wonderful job. What about that quiz night, you know the one before the fair, around 120 people there, battling their wits against one another, congratulations to Fullers Chapel (from Reach!) who managed to win the Dyke’s End Shield this year. I am sure there will be others out to get you next year. The pie and wine night went passed as if it didn’t arrive with a very poor showing of wines, Well done Ron for winning the wine making , coming second, and third I think as well wasn’t it Ron!?. Only a few pies as well but those that were there were very tasty. Could you please let the committee know if you want this competition on fair weekend or not.

The congratulations page is full this month but with a wedding, an engagement and four births since the last Out of Reach it’s not surprising . So congratulations to Rachelle & Marcel, Tessa & Phil and welcome to Reach to Felicity, Edward, David, & Timothy, our newest and youngest inhabitants.

I read from the letters that dogs are up to no good in the village, I thought I added an article about dog fouling only a few months ago, please pick it up and take it home, we don’t want it or need it on our streets or in our gardens. And can anyone help the Peachey family in their quest to find out more, I bet someone has a bit of information somewhere. I put Karen’s letter, about speeding in the village, under notices as I thought it deserved a higher profile. Mind you there is not a lot one can say really about it is there? If you are speeding then don’t. I am going to start a campaign, just need a manager, for a twenty mile an hour speed limit in Reach, as I am convinced that with all those bends and narrow roads in certain areas of the village thirty is too fast. I know one should drive slower if the conditions are such but I’m afraid a lot of us see a thirty sign and subsequently drive at thirty+.

Enough of that , I bet you cannot guess what I forgot to do at the 800th Reach Fair, can you? Well to keep you amused I forgot to take any photos I was so tied up with getting that web cam to work that I forgot I needed a few pictures to put on Reach site. So please if anyone has got any out there can I please borrow them?

Don’t forget the annual Parish Council meeting on the 7th June and the village hall AGM on July 19, I know that the village hall committee would very much like to see some new faces to help them with their organising especially with the 801st fair only 11 months away.

Well there is not much more to say in this editorial except I would like to wish all our youngsters every success in their exams which start in earnest in the next few days and I hope you all get the grades you need to go on to your chosen career or into further education at college good luck to you all.
