It doesn’t seem that long ago when I was writing my last editorial, but it must be two months. Reach Fair 2001 has come and gone, wasn't the weather good to us again, the crowds poured in, very few complaints only queuing I believe, so yet again lets all give a big thank you to the organisers who did an excellent job. I know a great day was had by all and as you can see pages 21/22 the profits were up again, to nearly £7000. Well done everyone. Last issue I mentioned a camera on the Green well I have had some response both for and against. Some of the comments are as follows :
To answer the last question, which may generate more feed back The camera a surveillance type as seen all over the county in towns and on our roads, will be recording on a 24 hour looped video tape, once the tape reaches this point, it starts again and records over the last images. Of course if an incident happens then the tape will be viewed by the police and any relevant action can be taken. The Web however will not be live this will be a still picture taken from the camera output which will update the Reach Web Cam page on the Reach Website every few minutes or hours depending on the update frequency which is set by a computer. This image will then be lost the next time the image is updated. The village therefore will not be seen live on the Web or anywhere else. I hope this helps in answering the question above. That reminds me I must update the web cam picture it still has snow on it. I am still after the youngsters in the village drawing some pictures for the front cover, come on mums and dads get them drawing so Out of Reach can include some input from the junior members of our community. Talking of the smaller residents of Reach, I would think that after all of the new families that have arrived in the village this year my birthday list is well out of date. If you would like your child to be mentioned and not left out of the birthdays, please contact me with names and dates so I can update my list and ensure they get the mention they deserve. Thank you. Congratulations to the Ladies Darts Team who again have won their Winter League and many other trophies along the way. The men have also done very well but I’m afraid no trophies this winter, Next year things will be different I am sure. Well that’s me done again only time to say if you are off on holiday in the next few weeks have a good time and don’t forget to cancel the milk and papers, try and get your neighbour to mow your lawn as well this is another tell tale sign you are away |
