Another fair is over and again congratulations to all the organisers who did a sterling job as usual. The weather was a little against us but it held out in the end. Before I bore you silly I will mention that on page 32 is a small form for you to fill out with your childrens’ names and dates of births. The reason I am asking for this is for the birthday page. My list is so far out of date now, and I cannot hope to guess anymore. So please fill it in or if you like to keep your Out of Reach then a piece of paper in the same format through my door will be greatly appreciated. I’m afraid this time no details no mention. Thank you. Welcome to the village all the new arrivals both those who have just moved in, and those who have arrived with the stork. I hope you all will be very happy here whether it’s for a few months or many years. After the fair we now have another celebration this time the Queen’s Jubilee arrangements have been made in the village so please attend at least one of the events. They are on from lunchtime until late on the Monday, don’t forget you have Tuesday off as well to recuperate, so enjoy yourselves. (Programme is on page 6). Congratulations to “Fullers Chapel” on winning the COLD Reach Fair quiz. The trophy was taken away from them last year but they fought a hard battle to get it back this year. Their representative said they would have liked their name only on the shield, but losing just once last year won’t be too bad. Look out next year though I have heard that some special training is going on in some camps! As a footnote to that evening we made £350 for the War Memorial Restoration Fund. Unfortunately we had a break in the village in the early hours of one morning, I know at that time it is hard to be vigilant but if anyone is wandering around and sees anything suspicious please phone the police immediately. Hopefully then we can get the offenders under lock and key. As most of you will be aware by now Penny Lang has resigned as Parish Clerk. I on behalf of you all wish to thank her for all the time and hard effort she has put into the job. I hope her replacement will be as good—talking of replacement if anyone is interested in the part time job of Parish Clerk could they please contact any councillor or even better contact Keith Lambert Chairman of the Parish Council who I am sure will let you know all the ins and outs of the post. Nearly forgot, Reach Village sports day is on June 30th from 2.30 pm on the playing field so please come along and have a bash at some of the events,. After all is done it’s quiz night in the pub, come and take on Fullers Chapel, there handicap is now back in place. (they have to answer without knowing the question!). I’m off now to the land of nod and I will be back with you again just before you go on holiday. Please get your submissions in as soon in July as you can as dead line is definitely the 15th July.
