June 30th 2002 - Sports Day We shall be holding the annual Village sports Day on Sunday 30th June starting at 2:30 pm on the playing field. Everyone in the village will be welcome at this traditional village family event. The races are open to all age groups from toddler to octogenarian (and beyond) As this is also the day of Football World Cup final which starts at 12:00 we may delay the start slightly in the unlikely event of England reaching the final and there being extra-time. The programme for the events and an indication of age groups is printed elsewhere in the magazine for those families who are new to Reach or for others who have not been to a Reach Village Sports Day before. The age groups are intended as a guide only, as in order to balance the numbers in each group they will be arranged on the day depending on the age of the children coming along. As the barbeque we held last year rather than a tea in the village hall proved to be very popular so we may repeat it this year – please watch the Green for a notice. We will welcome anyone’s offer of help in organising the food on the Sunday morning so we can all enjoy the afternoon. I hope so see as many as possible on the 30th. Tony Jordan |
