This year has been a success story for one of Reach’s Carpet Bowlers.

In April Roland Folkes won the English Pairs Championship at Hemsby in Norfolk with his partner Brian Clark.

He then went on to contend a singles title, starting at club level, winning his way through the East Cambs and Cambridgeshire Finals, then going on to Rotherham to play in the Champion of Champions . Playing again other county winners from all over the country, where he came runner-up.

He then went on to Luton to play against all the county winners in East Anglia this he won on the last bowl of his last match.

Well done Roland, We are proud of you.

For those of you who have walked around reach church recently you will have seen the grand seat commemorating the grant money donated by ECDC and in memory of Kay & Arthur Allan.

Various people have been busy tidying up the garden but as gardens go they do need a fair amount of work, especially with this wet weather!!

We have an adopt a flower bed scheme operating in the church garden whereby you look after a flowerbed all year round, keeping it weed free and perhaps planting. Some of the beds are fairly small and would not really need to much work sp please ‘adopt a bed’ if you have some time to spare.
