First I must send sincere condolences from my family and the village to the family of Ernie Cole who passed away on May 30th this year. A wonderful service of thanksgiving on June 8th where all Ernie’s family and friends attended., he will be greatly missed by all.

On a much brighter note we again welcome all the new arrivals to the village, I hope we will make you all feel part of the village as soon as possible, and on that note see page 8 for the Fair report (a bit late) and remember your help is needed so go along to the next meeting and sign up, either as a committee member (new ideas required) or as a helper for next years fair.

I have added a part of the latest Wicken Fen News (page 25) with a map to show how it may in years to come affect us, I see it comes up to my back door! Any comments please to me or to the trust.

The 1st Mini Beer Festival of Reach will be held on August 27th (Bank Holiday) this is not just a beer festival but also a day out for all the family, with the 5 a side football, (see Nicky in the pub), a FREE bouncy castle, keep off mum’s and dad’s it’s supposed to be for the kids. A BBQ and at 6.00 pm the notorious jazz band Armadeus Boldwicket’s Red Hot Peppers will be there to entertain you for the rest of the evening. So as it is said on the box “Come on Down” for a great day out.

Congratulations must go to Kelly and Garry on their wedding, Roland Folkes for defending his bowls title, and to Olivia and Alisdair on the birth of their daughter.

It’s almost August again and most of you will be heading off on holiday at some time during the next few weeks, please remember to let your neighbours know you are going , cancel your milk and papers etc. This is a good time for the burglar so please ensure your house looks lived in then go away and have a wonderful break without worrying about what’s happening in Reach. Those of us left here will do that for you.

Must go deadline approaches again and the printers never wait have a good holiday and I’ll be back in September. Deadline 15th September for October’s issue, and kids get me some front covers I’m still waiting!
