Fabric Working Group Reports

Swaffham Prior: at its meeting on 17th May, the Fabric Group discussed the woodworm problem. Andrew Graham said that he would get 5 litres of Cuprinol-based mixture, at a cost of £26, to treat the affected wood after the beetles had emerged. The Appeal would be launched on Gift Day for the major projects of vestry re-ordering, dewatering toilet and kitchen. The handrails and steps had now been done.

Reach: A Fabric Group must now be organised at Reach to launch the projects which are proposed ( moving the font, re-ordering the vestry, etc.)

Vicar’s Items

More chalice assistants were needed, as well as Jen Holmwood, Frank Riggs and Hilary Sage. Alasdair Coles also volunteered.

Ros Wood had talked to Ann Brent, who was in charge of recording for NADFAS. It would cost £400 to do the whole of church recording in Swaffham Prior, and a contribution towards this was needed. An evening talk about church recording would be organised, and a speaker found.

Dates and Venues of PCC Meetings

The Vicar thought it would now be fairer to share meetings between the two villages. Consequently, the next meeting would be on Wednesday, 14th July in Reach Village Centre ( not Monday 12th July in Swaffham Prior Village Hall as previously agreed)
