Another Christmas editorial, my third as editor, it will soon be time for someone else to have a go, but for now I will continue, unless you have had enough of my ranting. Before I get the keyboard moving again I will wish you all a very Merry Christmas with a happy and prosperous New Year to follow. I would first like to congratulate all those involved in the Children in Need Disco who apparently raised an outstanding £550 for this good cause, well done to all of you. I hear through the grapevine everyone who attended had a great night. The Village Hall Committee are after a Chairperson if you have the attributes required why not run along to the next meeting in the Village Hall and offer your services, in fact a few new faces on the committee would be greatly appreciated, the next Fair meeting is on December 13 with the next Hall meeting being January 17 please go along to one of these meetings and give them your support, over the years they have all done a fantastic job in organising the Fair and looking after the Hall, your help is now needed. I believe the Millennium book will be on sale before Christmas as long as nothing goes wrong, it is at the printers as I write this editorial, once available you will all be notified where to run and purchase your copy from, thanks to all involved in the project I know how hard it has been for you getting all the articles in I have the same problem every other month. But it is worth it in the end isn’t it. Has the weather gone crazy or are these two pigeons sat on a branch of one of my apple trees in love, they are huddled together, like a young courting couple, preening each other occasionally and then going back to watching the world go bye. What’s the weather got to do with it you may ask well I thought Spring was the time for young love not late Autumn. (Global Warming) Oh nearly forgot I apologise to Jodi Turner for missing her off last issues birthday list I don’t know how you got missed but sorry anyway, talking of birthdays it is the time of year I like to update my list so please send your youngsters birth dates and names to me again so I don’t get anymore unhappy youngsters. I remembered yours David (see birthday list). I have been asking for many months for the children of the village to produce a front cover for me, to enhance the look and make Out of Reach more local, well nothing has come forward, if the Swaffham Crier can do it then I am sure we can surely. Please get your offspring drawing we only have six issues a year it can’t be that hard. Well again ranting nearly over so you can get back to your tea or coffee and wait in anticipation for the next issue in February when I hope I will not need to chase and a nice cover will be on the front from one of our children.—Merry Christmas. |
