Children In Need

As you all know we had a party in the village hall on Saturday 17th November in aid of children in need. A grand total of £450 was raised.

We would like to thank the following for all their help and donations:- Cliff & Hayley for doing a superb job on the disco, Phil for his donation & for providing the bar & Karen for running it, the village hall committee for providing the hall free of charge, Dave Summers for the bottle of whisky, Paul & Doreen Robinson for the box of organic vegetables, Burwell chemist for the cuddly toy, Burwell post office, for the box of chocolates and everyone else who donated prizes, brought raffle tickets and turned out on the night to make it such a success.

We must not forget to thank our special guest "Noddy" from toy town (well, Nicky Gesinger from The Dyke's End.

Once again thank you all for your support.

FOUND ONE PAIR OF HORN RIMMED GLASSES

Or to explain properly, while Maureen and I were training our new Black Labrador "Henry" in Reach wood his nose went down and his tail went up and into the long grass he went, the tail started to wag at an exciting rate and we were sure he was on to a rabbit, but no out he came with a pair of glasses on his nose not too sure which way to go. Because really as a five-month old puppy the last thing he needed was glasses and anyway they did not fit properly. So one word from his master and like any good Labrador he bought them to me and was rewarded with a biscuit. So if you have lost some glasses that have only been worn once by a Black Labrador please call me to reclaim them, of course there is every chance "Henry" might answer the phone. He is a very intelligent. WOOF WOOF !!!
