a) Reach
re-ordering project: the Architects had sent a bill for the work which
had been done already for Reach Church, which was £3000. Laura Nottingham
was querying this. We are still expecting another bill for the new
drawings of the entrance doors and the architects have sent this work out
for new tenders. Doreen Robinson had resigned from the PCC because of
pressure of work, but said that she would try and see the Reach
re-ordering project through.
b) Service
Arrangements: these had been satisfactory so far. Roger Bowen and
Laurie Marsh had been coming to cover Communion Services. There would be
a Service of Choral Communion led by Tim Alban Jones and Cambridge Voices
on the evening of Remembrance Sunday. “Advent by Candlelight” would be on
8th December with “Cambridge Voices” at 4.00 pm.
c) Rotas: these
had been drawn up for readers, flowers and cleaning. Ruth Scovil had
typed and printed them and they would be distributed to all relevant
people.
d) School
Assemblies: Roger Bowen was unable to cover these at Swaffham Prior School
except occasionally. David Bousfield was visiting the school to take
assembly on a fairly regular basis, and it was hoped that some lay parents
would also help occasionally, perhaps those used to arranging Family
Services.
e) Pulpit : as
the design had not been approved by English Heritage, John Norris was
investigating other possibilities.
