Reach Village Center | ||
The interpretation of the recent Disability Discrimination Act means that unless the disabled toilet facilities in the Village Centre are improved we will not be granted an Entertainment’s Licence in the future. We have had several plans drawn up and the price of the most attractive option is significantly more than our original estimates. We have been granted planning permission for this proposed extension, but in order to be able to proceed we will need one or more grants to cover the roughly £30,000 extra we need. One of the major factors in obtaining a grant is the level of support from the wider community for the project being considered. In our case this is not simply a toilet, but additional storage area plus an additional meeting room and replacement of the existing decaying asbestos lean-to roof. We are planning to build an additional room in order to enhance the facilities within the Centre and to make it available for more people to use during the day. We are pleased that the Centre is used regularly during the day by the Little Windmills Playgroup as this means it does not sit idle for the majority of the time. Unfortunately this does mean that no other groups can use the Centre during the day. The purpose of the survey below is to gauge the level of support for a variety of activities which could take place in the Centre if we provided an additional room with secure storage. There are a variety of possible uses and we would like you to complete the form and have it ready for us to collect before the Carol evening in December. The list is not exhaustive and is purely a wish list, which we will explore further depending on the initial responses. If you would like some other activities then please add these to the list. Thank you for your time. Tony Jordan |
