11th October 1999 To Whom it May Concern, Following my fathers funeral on Monday 27th September 99, I was very disturbed to learn that someone, presumably from the Fair Green area left a note on a vehicle belonging to my cousin telling them not to park there but, to park closer to or on their own property. They were attending the funeral and had left the vehicle out of the way of the church. I have never heard of such a thing in my whole life of living in this village. There are no No Parking areas, Restricted Parking areas, residents only areas etc in Reach so how can someone resort to this action without authority. As far as I am aware no obstruction was caused, either to property or to the highway. I feel very sad that I have to write this letter but it has been on my mind ever since I found out about it. I await a reply on this matter hopefully offering a reason or an apology for this action. Janet Newman 2 Great Lane |
To Whom it May Concern, My daughter in Law came to her uncles funeral at Reach Church recently and rather than park her car near the church which would have obstructed the under-taker, also parents picking up toddlers from the Village hall she parked her car on the opposite side of the green, where some one put a rude note on it, because it was parked there and hadnt the guts to sign it. I have lived in Reach all my life and dont know of any parking regulations. A funeral is a traumatic occasion for some without adding extra trauma to it. If you do own a house beside the road, that doesnt give you the right to lay down the law and tell people where they can and cant park. I have since heard this is not the first time this has happened, I hope however that it is the LAST. J Harrison |
