Notes on the Reach Parish Council meeting held on Wednesday 13th June 2001

Present: Chairman Cllr Lambert, Vice/Chairman Cllr Robinson, Cllrs Summers, Harrison, Pearson, Aves, and Moseley; also C/Cllr Fitch.

Matters arising

The Clerk had met with a representative from Wicksteed Leisure to inspect the play equipment, with a view to making a risk assessment. A report had been subsequently received. It was agreed that two councillors (Cllrs Pearson and Moseley) would inspect the equipment and report back to the PC on the views of Wicksteed Leisure.

Cllr Lambert reported a slight problem with the installation of the deterrent posts. The highways department had not provided the fold-down post as requested and the cost was going to be higher than agreed. One parishioner had already complained about the posts saying they were unattractive. It was agreed that they would look better painted green. Keys are to be provided for those requiring access when the project is completed.

Correspondence

Local footpaths had been re-opened following the foot and mouth epidemic. Clerk reported that grasscutting would begin again soon, but it would take a little time to catch up the backlog. Clerk to ask Rights of Way Officer about the overgrown state of Devil’s Dyke.
