Notes on Reach Parish Council meeting held on Wednesday

11th June 2003

Present

Chairman Cllr Robinson, V/Chairman Cllr Aves, Cllrs Summers, Harrison, Pearson, Moseley and Hill; also C/Cllr Fitch and D/Cllr Cane.

Matters arising

Councillors discussed the possibility of getting matching street lights on the side of Fair Green opposite the village hall to match the existing replaced lights. Cllr Cane said she would try to put it forward under the ECDC enhancement scheme.

Cllr Summers spoke about vandalism, which had taken place recently on Fair Green, when cars were walked over and windows broken. The police were very interested in catching the perpetrators.

Highways

East Highways Division had written informing the PC that the footpath at Ditchfield would be resurfaced.

Cambridge airport

A planning application for a passenger terminal and car park at Cambridge Airport had been withdrawn.

Police Community Support Officers

The project for deploying PCSOs in the community has been put on hold as the Cambridgeshire Constabulary has not been award the full amount of funding that they applied for from the Home Office.

Reach matters

Vandalism

The post holding the bus timetable at the bus stop on Fair Green had been snapped off.

Playing field complaint

A complaint had been received regarding noisy football players in the evening on the Reach playing field.

Players had in turn complained about the thorny hedging puncturing their footballs.

Cllr Pearson suggested it should be replaced by a non-thorny hedge.
