If you break down on the motorway put your hazard lights on and pull on to the hard-shoulder. Stop as near to the emergency telephone as possible, leave your passenger door open and face oncoming traffic to watch for danger.

If a car stops , while you are making the call tell the operator the registration and lock yourself in the car.
