REACH FAIR'S 800TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS One of the traditions we are reviving for this special occasion is the Tug of War competition. It used to take place over Reach Lode with the unfortunate losers getting a soaking for their efforts! This time, however, it will be a fun event held on the lower Green starting at around 6 o'clock by which time we hope to have cleared up. There will be music and refreshments as well, and the funfair will be going on into the evening, so there will be plenty of entertainment for the whole family if they are not watching the contest. And of course there will be the time-honoured prize of a firkin of beer! What we need now are plenty of teams, (8 to a team), both from the village and outside. If you would like to join in, contact Grahame Miller who is co-ordinating the event. He can be found most days at the Dyke’s End or contacted on 741428. If you are forming a team, either in the village or outside, such as at work, please complete the form below and give it to Grahame as soon as possible. Register early! The number of teams will be limited as we hope to finish at about 8.30. There is a registration fee of £1 per head to help cover costs. So sign up and join in the fun! |
