Reach Fair News

By the time you read this there will only be 3 months till Fair Day, May 7th . This may seem plenty of time to get everything done but believe me it will fly by if other years are anything to go by. The committee are booking attractions, organising stalls, losing sleep about parking etc but there are 2 areas where help is needed urgently.

One is Publicity. Jacquie Lewis has done a brilliant job in previous years in getting information spread all over the region which has resulted in increasing crowds attending. She is unable to give as much time this year and so we need another person to get involved, particularly in writing to village magazines and the press to get information across.

The other is the Cake Stall. This has been increasingly successful in the years Claudine Bateman and Rita Dunnett have run it. Possibly the victim of its own success as they now need a break. It is unthinkable to have the Fair without a cake stall. The ideal way to run it is to get as many offers of baking from others as possible. Don't forget there is reimbursement for the cost of ingredients. There is also freezer capacity to store advance baking. If a group got together for this task it need not be too arduous (and could be fun!)
