Village Questionnaire |

|
The statisticians say a 27% response is good for a survey, I was rather disappointed. With approximately 130 houses in the village to only get 30 replies was a disappointment to me. The graphs show the results (thanks Dave) in its simple form, but the interesting area to me was the last question. What is missing in the Village? Every one wants a Post Office or Shop, we had one once and the owner could not make it pay, could anyone now? Is Phil interested in having a PO in the Pub? A meeting place for the teenagers was well up the list, I wonder if they want one? Seats in the wood and down the Fen, this is a County problem I understand, but if anyone is willing to help I am sure it would not be too difficult to make some and set them up, any volunteers? Speed humps, this is a County question, but it would be a good idea if the Parish Council asked about it. One person likes it just as it is. One person wants a tennis court. Numerous people asked where the spirit of the 50's and 60's had gone or more give and take to help each other This is a sad reflection on life today, we are all in to much of a hurry and that I am afraid will not change. So thank you every one who did return their form. What it has achieved is to prove that even though we are living in a small attractive village the world has changed and talk of the good old days is as they say "History." Grahame Miller |
