Another Fair over, and again a beautiful sunny day, looking at the accounts (page 13) an extremely profitable Fair as well. Sue has asked me to thank all who kindly donated bottles for the bottle stall yet again a very successful stall. Well done to all concerned again, lets hope next year is going to be as good. Don’t forget next year is the 799th Fair! Start thinking now of something extra special for the 800th. Let a committee member know if you have any ideas or even join yourself and help. AGM July 21 please go along and add your support. Congratulations must go to the Ex Reach Ladies Darts Team, who now play out of the Black Horse in Swaffham Bulbeck, they have again won their winter league title keep up the good darts girls, and you will get another mention next year. Congratulations must also go to our newly weds Peter and Claudia Burton of Great Lane, good luck for the future, and to continue, congratulations go also to Janet Collins for her adult learner award - well done Janet. (pages 10/11). We welcome all newcomers to the village, I noticed quite a few new faces as I went around and collected the bottles for the Fair this year, have a good look through the Out of Reach and decide which committee you feel best suits you!! no only kidding, but do please try and join in with all the fun that has been organised this summer. As you will see from the ‘Dates for your Diary’ (page 7) it has been decided that the Bottle and Can evenings on a Friday night will cease the reason for this is as a warm up to hopefully the pub re-opening soon and the longer summer evenings. If for any reason these evenings are needed they will start again in September. Don’t forget the quiz nights though they will continue either in the hall or in the pub. Having just spent three weeks on sick leave after the operation on my knee and not being able to drive I realise what a strain it must be on the older folk in the village and others who are unable to drive. Please if you can help or even just pop round for a cup of tea I am sure your help or visit will be greatly appreciated by those who remain here. However at least the buses are a bit better now, note as from May 30 buses will be coming through the village on Sundays and Bank Holidays. The Millennium, I bet you are getting fed up with that word by now, I know I am, still not much longer to go now and hopefully it won’t be mention again for a thousand years. (not my problem then). Anyway Grahame Miller is trying to get the book together so could you please phone him or go and see him with all your bits and pieces as soon as possible.(page 33). You will also be receiving a Millennium Night celebration form please fill it in and return it to Grahame as soon as possible to make this evening go with a bang. Thanks. Well that's another Out of Reach put to bed, as they say, lets have lots of bits in for the next one cover date 15th July. This date is essential as the magazine must be at the printers by Monday 19th July of course before this date will be great. Late flash - Watch your milk bottles they are being stolen from your doorsteps!
