Walking the way to health |
The East Cambridgeshire Primary Care Group and District council health workers are putting plans together to start a walking scheme. What would the scheme involve? Walk routes marketed and public information available. As above, which are led walks. As above, with the emphasis on GP involvement and incentive schemes. 10 Good Reasons To Walk 1. Improves your overall fitness- by decreasing your blood pressure and the risk of heart disease by exercising the heart at a moderate level. 2. Improves balance, co-ordination and joint flexibility. 3. Reduces anxiety and depression. 4. Can help with weight management. 5. Allows a family quality time together. 6. Increases stamina and energy levels. 7. Gives you the chance to appreciate your surroundings and the environment. 8. Increases oxygen levels in the body, which has many benefits. 9. Can be done at anytime during the day. 10. Walking is FREE We need , your help. Would you like to take part in the scheme in the future?
