Reach War Memorial Fund
The
Reach War Memorial is in need of repair if you are not sure go take a
look! Here are some pictures taken the other day. On the right you can see
that the Memorial is beginning to lean the foundation needs relevelling.
The two photographs below show how the concrete base has broken and will
need replacing. And finally below on the right you can see how the names
have worn, these require re cutting.
It has been decided that the War Memorial must be repaired and returned to it’s former glory, the complete restoration is going to cost in the order of £5000. A War Memorial fund has been set up and we are in collection mode. The Dyke’s End has so far raised £100 and has also decided to add £1.00 to the cost of the tickets for the buffet on the 2nd anniversary celebrations (£7.00). This £1 will be added to the Memorial fund, so please attend the evenings celebrations and support the restoration of the Memorial . Anybody wishing to make a donation may do so to the Parish Council. Thank you.
The Queen’s Golden Jubilee
As you will all know next year is the Queens Golden Jubilee. How do you wish to celebrate ? A street party, A Village Party in the hall, or maybe plant another Jubilee tree. Please let a Parish Councillor have your ideas, or the editor of the Out of Reach, time is short, they are already organising next year’s fair. Ideas please as soon as possible.
