Our Island Home

We fought two world wars, for the right just to

Stay free.

And many lost their lives, for a better future for

You and me

They gave their all for our country, and fought

With pride.

And so many young men and women fell, as they

Battled side by side.

So many miles away from home where many still

Lay today,

In some lonely unmarked graves, in some foreign

Soil faraway.

Was all this loss of life for nothing, and all the

Sacrifice all in vain?

And must eve forget everything, all the horrors

And the pain?

Do we really want to he controlled, by those we

Have fought?

And must we disregard everything that we have

Been taught?

That this island of ours will always be our home

And BRITAIN is great.

And we will always defend this at all times, no

Matter what it takes

Are we to be taken into EUROPE, by the blind

Leading the blind,?

Arid throw away our independence, and leave our

Pride behind.

Will we have to toe the line, as laid down lay those

We may never meet?

If we don't conform, will we see foreign police and

Troops on our streets. ?

So we must think very carefully, on what our leaders

Have to say.

If we do go further into EUROPE:, will we live to

Regret the day ?

So let us stay free, and proud to be BRITISH to

The core.

Because this is what all those who died, fought so

Bravely for.

BILL, ESTALL 2001
