Oh where have our summers gone? Where is
the clear
Blue sky?
Have they gone to far off lands? And just left us here
To sigh?
And what has happened to all those lazy days? When
We could lay in the sun
Or just relax in our garden, when our long days toil
Is done
We could go down by the sea, and sun bathe on the
Warm sand
Or perhaps just stroll along the prom, and listen to the
Band
Maybe lay in a deckchair, and relax and watch the world
Go bye
And feel the warmth of the midday sun, high in the midday
Sky
Watching the children playing, and throwing a beach ball
In the air
And watch a angry gentleman, fighting a loosing battle
With a deckchair
We hear the gulls that twist and turn, letting out their
Piecing scream
And see the toddlers face and hands, all covered with
Melting ice cream
Perhaps one day our summers will return, and the sun
Will shine again
To chase away the rain clouds, then the summer wont be
A pain
But we must not be downhearted, and we must not look
To far back
Just remember when you go on holiday, to always pack
Your mac
But we must remember the age old saying, that what will
Be will be
And we wont know summer from winter, only bye the
Leaves on the trees
